We believe that reviving the lost art of dressing, behaving and thinking like gentlemen benefits ourselves and the world around us.

I can’t think of much better than a leisurely stroll in a beautiful forest with a pup and a loved one. This is Lundenh with Mordecai, at Francis Marion National Forest in South Carolina. Photo by Dorian,

"Everyday we wake up, grab our iPhones, and check Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. This trip was the first time in a while where the stress of technology didn’t exist. Being in the middle of the woods reconnects you to what’s real. We forget so easily that we live on this massive rock and that it has everything we actually need to exist. When you stop and seriously think about that, it is pretty awe-inspiring." - Jake Przespo

Apple picking is perhaps the most Autumnal of activities. Hop on a train or in a car with some quality people, get away from the city, and aside from your final destination, let the country side determine your schedule. Stop by a winery for a tasting, eat at a classic small town diner on the way back, and haul home enough supplies to make a great apple pie. Enjoy Fall while it lasts! - Wesley

A gentleman knows how to prepare a proper dish with just his favorite ingredients, and we at GNTLMN are excited to help. Presenting the Short Stack Cookbooks. A handmade set of three cookbooks, each focusing on a different key ingredient (eggs, tomatoes, and strawberries).
The set is hand-stitched and bound with a limited edition towel featuring a beautiful Short Stack print. Written by Ian Knauer (Gourmet Magazine), Soa Davies (Le Bernardin, HBO, Bon Appétit) and Susan Spungen (Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine).
Below a little insight from publisher and friend of GNTLMN Nick Fauchald.
Q: After having supplied readers with recipes via apps and websites in the past, you’ve taken a decidedly analog approach with the Short Stack Cookbooks. What motivated this change, and how did the creation process differ from creating apps and web content?
A: Producing these booklets was a refreshing return to my magazine roots. I’m all too aware of the short half-life recipes can have in digital form. It sounds counter-intuitive, yes, but I still think great recipes are most permanent when printed on a sheet of paper. There’s something about flipping through a cookbook that you can replicate on a computer. The Internet is great for searching for a recipe, but I don’t trust just anything I find via Google; I want to know who created the recipe and if they took the time to make sure it will work in my kitchen. I hope our readers will keep their Short Stack editions handy for whenever they need a new idea for cooking a favorite ingredients. And, like all good cookbooks, we hope our readers will collect Short Stacks and pass them along to their friends and family.
Purchase your own set of Short Stack Cookbooks here. Very limited quantities.
