We believe that reviving the lost art of dressing, behaving and thinking like gentlemen benefits ourselves and the world around us.

(There are still a few GNTLMN x Haptic Lab Brooklyn Picnic Quilts left, and we can’t wait to break them out as soon as the weather allows.)

We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that our second ever product is now available for purchase.
We worked with our neighbors at Haptic Lab to create a limited edition Brooklyn picnic quilt. Rugged enough to use outdoors, soft enough to use on your bed, and attractive enough to spark a conversation anywhere. The top of the quilt features a hand-stitched map of Brooklyn, while the bottom showcases a strong red, white and blue plaid. Only 50 copies were made.

Rugged enough to use outdoors, soft enough to use on your bed, and beautiful enough to spark a conversation everywhere you go. The quilt features a hand-stitched map of Brooklyn, while the alternate side showcases a beautifully strong red, white and blue plaid.
Special thanks to Elma for being her beautiful self, reading a book on Nolan’s Lawn on Governor’s Island.

Yesterday Team GNTLMN and the rest of our Studiomates community was treated to a visit by Colum Egan, master distiller of the Irish whiskey distillery Bushmills. Since 2002 Colum has been responsible for all the critical stages of whiskey production - all of them carried out at the distillery itself.
Bushmills and GNTLMN share a set of core values that includes a focus on creating a lasting and timeless product, a long term view, and a personal approach to creating a quality handcrafted product and company.
Colum told stories of the old days, educated those not that familiar with drinking whiskey on the creation process and the history, and answered absurdly geeky questions from our resident office whiskeyholic Cameron Koczon. A great afternoon was had by all. - Wesley

This weekend was spent in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park enjoying the snow, the views, the sounds of young families having fun, and some quality me time.
I had my GNTLMN x Strawfoot Handmade Tote Bag in tow and was pleased to see how well it has been developing it’s own identity through use and age. The waxed canvas gets better looking at it gets more beat up, the vegetable tanned leather changes colors and increases in softness, and the shape of the tote forms to it’s use.
Here’s to hoping for a bit more snow around these parts soon. - Wesley

At GNTLMN we focus on creating new and lasting products that are timeless in their aesthetic. Products that have real utilitarian value, and fit in our lives equally well 60 years ago, right this moment, or 60 years from now.
While we respect heritage and vintage, we are more inspired by timeless values and style  that works across eras.
Our friend Laurel Linton shared a great example of a timeless look when she posted this beautiful photo of her great grandparents Ponnie and Ewel, sitting by the Louisville Water Works Reservoir in 1920. Their sense of fashion was relevant then, as it is now. On Ewel we see the classic two button black suit, a white collared shirt, handsome dress boots. Ponnie wears an elegant top and dress that would look equally beautiful on her great grand-daughter Laurel almost 100 years later. Now that’s timeless.
